Types of Mechanical Fans

Posted by: | Posted on: March 28, 2020

Mechanical or industrial fans come in different sizes and shapes to fulfill the industry needs. They can be bought fully assembled, semi-assembled, or tailor-made to suit specific requirements.

We can see a wide range of top industrial fans (also known as “แฟนอุตสาหกรรมชั้นนำ” in the Thai language) in the market. Each of them has a different design and manufacturing as they are made for different application areas.

These fans can be hung on ceilings or kept on tables and also attached to small windows for ventilation purposes. These fans are also installed or embedded in the engines of vehicles in order to get rid of smoke and dust.

Here are some common types of mechanical fans:-

Centrifugal fans: These fans are robust, quiet and reliable as compared with other types of fans. These are used where both flow and higher pressures are needed. These fans are commonly used in central heating systems, building ventilation systems, and the automotive industry.

Axial fans: These fans are used in situations where heavy airflow is needed. These are commonly used in large places like high-speed locomotives, environmental protection, power stations, etc. These fans use blades that are designed to force air in the parallel direction.

Cooling fans: These fans are used in residential areas where heavy airflow is not needed. These are sometimes known as a type of axial fans. These are used in air-cooled steam condensers, cooling towers, air-conditioners, and similar.

These were the common types of mechanical fans. Before investing in any industrial or mechanical fans, keep in mind these types and choose according to your needs.
